Billerica's Premier Monthly News Magazine. We launched in June 2009 and were overwhelmingly received by the town's 17,000 households and businesses. We became a trusted, relied upon, and expected local source of information. In July 2010, we paused publication due to growth issues but are regrouping. In the meantime,we are here on the web posting Billerica Green content much like before.  Visit our website for updates and announcements to prepare for the triumphant return of The Exceptional Billerica Green.

Hi Everyone,

Just wanted to let you know what we are up to. You read the press release about the closing of The Green. Although we lost our ONE designer (Thanks for everything Tony) and had to close temporarily we've been planning our return. The Billerica Green became part of the town's reading habit. So, with that mission in mind, we plan to continue moving forward.

Wrapping up from the last print edition, we honored the Ipod contest--congrats Sydney Herrick! And on September 22nd (with a rain date of the 29th) we are still hosting the Heart of Billerica Awards on the town common which I hope you all can make (Your personal invite is posted on the announcements page.) Going forward, here's our plans.

Currently, I am assembling a design team. So far, we have a potential Art Director, a commissioned artist for the covers, a potential secondary designer in charge of editorial layout and a couple of  artist/illustrator/graphic designers on hold. I too am trying my hand at ad design and web design/management (thanks to Yahoo! Web Hosting) and will be taking classes/workshops in design techniques/tools.

We will keep the website updated every two weeks. Check it out!  Here we'll have posted news, announcements, columns, photos, etc.  If you have info, press releases, events to post, you can email me the info and I'll get it up there asap.

I'm back in the BATV studios getting equipment certified so we can put out a couple of Billerica Green In Focus shows in the fall. We will take Billerica Green content we already have and bring it to life. PLUS...we plan to create some new stuff we can write stories about in the future. If anyone has 'crew' experience, we can use the help.

So, when is The Billerica Green coming back? We are looking to do an edition before year's end--we will announce the exact details/dates on the website announcement page in late September. We're taking our time so we get the team up to speed and I want a sense of how a new look to the paper will be received. 

We're excited to incorporate a number of talented Billerica artists and designers, giving the magazine even more local flavor.  After the holidays, I will be collecting more data from the town so please tell everyone you know to take the reader surveys online because I really need that information. It will make a difference as to how soon we return monthly once more.
